The national sevens teams will be travelling business class to the Rio Olympics.
The announcement was made after the Road to Gold campaign team raised $344,335.83 to assist the men’s and women’s teams in their quest for Fiji’s first ever Olympic gold medal.
Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor confirms that this will allow them to travel business class and allow the players to rest as much as possible before the tournament.
O’Connor says that part of the money will also be used for their camp before the games while the FRU board will be meeting again to decide on where and how the rest of the money will be used.

The players are expected to go back to camp today.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s and Telecom Fijiana 7s teams will undergo one more week of training at the Uprising Beach Resort training camp before leaving for Rio on the 26th of this month.
Fiji will take on Brazil in their first Rio Olympics pool game at 4.30am on August 10th, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am on August 11th.
