Lautoka based schools, Natabua and Jasper are still leading the Fijivillage medal tally of the 2016 Coca-Cola Games.
Natabua is leading the boys division with 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze, Marist is in second place with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze while RKS is now in third place with 1 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze.
Jasper is leading with 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze, Napuka Secondary from Taveuni is in second place with 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze while Saint Joseph’s Secondary School is now in third place with 2 gold and 1 bronze.
ACS is in fourth place with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
The first record has tumbled on Day 2 of the 2016 Coca-Cola Games.
Marist Brothers High School’s Sekonaia Bulu had a record throw of 13.77 metres in the Sub Junior Boys Shot Put event.
The previous record of 12.95 metres was held by Henry Spring of QVS.
Alipate Wesele of Marist took their first gold medal.
Wesele won gold in the Intermediate Boys Javelin event.
Pio Vulibuli of All Saints Secondary School won silver while Waisea Mateo of John Wesley College won the bronze medal.
Nathaniel Tupou won the second gold medal for Marist in the Junior Boys Javelin.
Keresi Maya won silver and Navitalai Tamainai took the bronze medal.
Rotuma High School’s lone athlete at the 2016 Coca-Cola Games has won a gold medal.
Rafaelle Pau’u won gold in the Sub-Junior boys Long Jump.
He has dedicated the win to the students of Rotuma High School.
Pau’u is aiming to win gold in the 400 metres final this evening.
Natabua High School has taken 5 gold medals so far.
Natabua’s Tikomaijapani Batibasaga took gold for the Lautoka based school in the Junior Boys Shot Put.
Lincoln Kauata of Marist settled for silver while Viliame Sokiveta of RKS will take home the bronze medal.
Natabua athletes won gold in the Sub Junior, Junior and Intermediate 1,500 metres events.
Sevenaia Ducivaki won gold for Natabua in the 1,500 metres Sub Junior Boys final, Colin Vassie of Natabua won gold in the 1,500 metres Junior final while Isikeli Waseaqali came first in the Intermediate Boys final.
Viliame Dileqa of RKS won the Senior Boys 1,500 metres in a close race.
Iliesa Ratete of Natabua took the silver while Samuela Digitaki of Gau Secondary took the bronze.
George Vokiti of Natabua High School has won another gold for Natabua High School in the Intermediate Boys High Jump.
Vokiti who already holds the Junior Boys High Jump record of 1.90 metres which he set in 2014, said this win means a lot to him and his family.
International School Suva athlete, Maia Ramsden won the first gold medal of Day 2 of the 2016 Coca-Cola Games.
Ramsden won gold in the 1,500 metres Open Girls event.
She ran a time of 4 minutes 55 seconds and beat the record holder, Mereseini Naidau of Jasper.
Naidau’s record which was set in 2011, still stands at 4 minutes 54 seconds.
Naidau took the silver medal today while Ita Senitarawau of Ballentine Memorial School took bronze.
Ramsden said she has really worked hard this year to win gold.
