A 5-year-old kindergarten student, Caleb Waqalevu who was reported missing earlier today was reunited with his mother this afternoon.
An urgent message was issued that Waqalevu had gone missing from the Holy Trinity kindergarten when family members went to pick him up at 12pm today.
Police spokesperson, Jokatama Qio confirmed to Fijivillage that the 5 year old has been re-united with his mother as the child was dropped at the Market Police Post by a bus driver.
He says that the 5-year-old boy had followed his friends and gotten on a Cunningham bus frm school.
When the driver did all the drop offs, he noticed the boy sitting alone in the bus.
He asked the boy some questions and then took him to the Market Police Post.
The boy was then taken to Totogo Police Station and reunited with his mother.
Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho thanked the bus driver for doing the right thing and handing the child to Police.
Meanwhile this also raises the issue on how schools are releasing children from school and whether they monitor who is picking up the students.
