Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee says Scotland are one of the big improvers in the international game and is predicting a high‑tempo affair when the teams go head to head in Suva this afternoon.

Scotland are riding high after a stunning 24‑19 victory over the Wallabies in Sydney and could climb as high as fourth in the world rankings depending on today's result.

Fiji also have some momentum, after Ben Volavola slotted a drop goal in added time to steal a 22‑19 victory against Italy last week.

McKee says they want to be seen as an even competitor with these top teams and they still got a lot of work to do but he believes that they have got talented athletes to compete with anyone in world rugby and every time they go out they are striving for those wins.

Captain Akapusi Qera says they are looking at expressing their talents and hopefully come with a result that everyone can be proud of against Scotland today.

Qera says they will come in the game as the underdogs and the team that has been selected to play against Scotland is a very good team.

Players like Josua Tuisova, Patrick Osborne and Peceli Yato will start in this match.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has urged the Vodafone Flying Fijians to play with pride despite Scotland is ranked as one of the best teams in the world.

While presenting the jerseys to Flying Fijians last night, Bainimarama told the team that last week’s game against Italy was the tip of the iceberg but he reminded the team to concentrate on today’s game and make sure to win against Scotland.

Bainimarama reminded the players of their national duties, pride and to maintain discipline on the field.

Bainimarama says we need to prove to World Rugby that Fiji is able to secure a spot in the top five, given that we are ranked 10th in the World.

The Vodafone Flying Fijians will take on Scotland at 2.30pm today at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM on 92.2 FM.
