With the 2016/2017 World Sevens Series looming in December, majority of the players in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team are expected to leave for overseas contracts.
Fijivillage has received confirmation that four players have to go back to their clubs while three players have signed new contracts for the next season.
France based Samisoni Viriviri, Josua Tuisova, Semi Kunatani and Leone Nakarawa will be flying back soon to continue their contracts while Savenaca Rawaca, Vatemo Ravouvou and Viliame Mata have all signed new contracts.
Rawaca will be joining Saracens next season, Ravouvou has signed with Sydney Rams while Mata will head to Edinburgh in the Pro 12 competition.
Fijivillage understands that other players have also received offers but they are yet to make a decision.
With Coach Ben Ryan leaving Fiji next month, the Fiji Rugby Union is yet to confirm who will be the new coach with three months left for the next World Sevens Series.
We have asked the Fiji Rugby Union however they are saying it is still early days as the Olympic 7s celebrations continue.
Any talk of a new coach will be after the 7s celebrations.
The 7s team will head to Labasa this week for a special celebration for the people of the North this Friday.
The players who were dropped from the Olympics team are expected to be called back for the Sevens Series.
These players include Emosi Mulevoro, Amenoni Nasilasila, Nemani Nagusa, Sevuloni Moceinacagi, Josua Vici, Alivereti Veitokani, Pio Tuwai and other players in the extended squad.
The World Sevens Series kicks off in Dubai on December 2nd and Fiji is the defending champion.
