Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum hit out at the opposition during the National Budget response last night, saying that there has been so much racism in parliament and the level of hypocrisy is a serious concern.

Sayed-Khaiyum says SODELPA MP Ro Kiniviliame Kiliraki said that we are Godless because our constitution does not refer to God.

He says section 22 of the constitution states that every person has the right to freedom of religion, conscience and belief.

Sayed-Khaiyum says with God mentioned in the previous constitution, the leadership of the SVT and some MPs from the SDL broke their marriage vows every night or on a weekly basis.

The Attorney General also raised concern about the racist policies in the past and how certain law firms used to conduct their business.

We will have more later today.
