44-year-old, Ro Filipe Kepa who is facing three counts of rape and one count of pornographic activity relating to offences allegedly committed against a 17-year-old, is still in custody.
Kepa was granted bail yesterday afternoon however he needs to get a reliable surety before he is released from custody.
Fijivillage has received confirmation that a surety is on his way from Suva to Sigatoka as Kepa cannot reside in Sigatoka according to the bail conditions.
Kepa allegedly raped the 17-year-old on three different occasions between 2013 to 2015.
Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Henry Brown said that the 44-year-old man is alleged to have participated in recording pornographic material when the victim was 15-years-old.
Fijivillage has received information that Kepa is also under investigation for other alleged rape cases.
A number of videos were allegedly discovered in his hard drive which was recovered by police during the investigation.
Meanwhile Principal Administrative Officer for the Opposition Office, Mick Beddoes says the matter is before the courts and therefore any information on the case should be directed to Ro Filipe’s lawyer.
Beddoes says Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa will not make any comments at this stage.
