Legend FM and Fijivillage News Director Vijay Narayan interviews French rugby 15s Captain Thierry Dusautoir after Dusautoir's club training in Toulouse, France. Dusautoir also plays with Fijian Timoci Matanavou.
Vijay Narayan: “Thierry, a lot of people follow you closely in Fiji, any message to the people of Fiji, of course with a few months away from the Rugby World Cup in England.”
Thierry Dusautoir: “First of all I would like to say hi to them because it is a great nation of rugby. A lot of great players are from Fiji and last year we played against Fiji, the last autumn in France, it was quite a hard game but I am sure that they are going to do really good at the World Cup and I am sure the Fijians will be really proud of their achievement.”
Vijay Narayan: “Thierry, the World Cup is next year, you missed out just by few points in New Zealand in the final, it must have been heart breaking that time. You were quite emotional after that game. Do you think France has got it what it takes this time to win the World Cup?”
Thierry Dusautoir: “Well that’s true. That was a bad memory but we are working on our weak ends to be ready for the World Cup. We hope to be able to win this one in England as it is not so far from the country. So it would be nice for us to win this time, but we have a lot of work to do before the World Cup.”
Vijay Narayan: “You play with Timoci Matanavou. A lot of people say he’s a humble soul and gets along well with everyone. Any comments about this?”
Thierry Dusautoir: “Sure, he’s a really good mate and we are all happy to have this guy with us in the team, in the field and out of the field. He’s very important for the team. Tim is a very good player, he’s a good guy and a really nice man.”
Vijay Narayan: “Do you have any Christmas message to the people of Fiji, we’ve just got a few days to go for Christmas?”
Thierry Dusautoir: “Hi, I am Thierry Dusautoir, the French Captain. I would like to say Happy Christmas and Happy New Year, hope you all enjoy with the family and nation and a nice year for the Fijian people.”
