Solicitor General, Sharvada Sharma has said in the case of the elections petition filed by SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka and NFP Leader, Professor Biman Prasad that there is no single evidence to show that there were 108 people that were denied the right to vote in the 2018 general elections.
Sharma who is representing, the Supervisor of Elections, says that the petitioners must bring the evidence to court.
Sharma says if no evidence is given, then nothing is proven.
He says the Supervisor of Elections will do his level best to address all allegations.
Jon Apted and Filimoni Vosarogo who are representing Rabuka and Prasad, have told Legend FM news that they are planning to call 8 out of the 108 people as their witnesses.
The case has been adjourned till Thursday.
The election petition case filed by Unity Fiji Party’s Satish Kumar has been adjourned to this Thursday.
The respondents in this case have been ordered by Justice Anjala Wati and Justice Kamal Kumar to file their responses before the next call of the case.
The petition has been filed against FijiFirst parliamentarians, Salik Govind and Alexander O’Connor and the Supervisor of Elections.
Lawyer, Jolame Uludole represented Satish Kumar while Solicitor General, Sharvada Sharma was in court representing the Supervisor of Elections.
Devanesh Sharma was in court on the instructions of the FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum.
Justice Kumar and Justice Wati have said that the responses must be filed by 3pm this Wednesday.
Meanwhile, another election petition case that was filed by Jone Dakuvula, has been adjourned to 10am this Thursday.
Dakuvula has filed the petition against the Supervisor of Elections, the Electoral Commission, Voreqe Bainimarama, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Faiyaz Koya.
The respondents in this case have also been asked to file their responses by 3pm this Wednesday.
