People are advised to take necessary precautions before nightfall as a heavy rain warning is now in force for the Northern and Eastern half of Viti Levu from Ba to Rakiraki, Nausori, Suva, Navua and Sigatoka, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti.
Expect continuous heavy rain as a trough of low pressure and rain bands associated with the Tropical Depression are scattered all over the group.
The depression was located 90 kilometres North North West of Nadi earlier this afternoon.
This is the centre of the system and is the closest to the Fiji group which is resulting in more rain and strong winds.
Please note that the rain bands and winds will continue to affect Fiji as the depression moves South East at about 10 kilometres per hour.
The Nadi Weather Office says localised heavy rain will lead to flash flooding.
A strong wind warning remains in force for all land areas of Fiji.
Expect strong northerly winds with an average of 55 kilometres per hour gusting to 75 kilometres per hour.
Meanwhile, a number of traffic of lights are not working due to power outages and we have also witnessed many drivers speeding due to this.
Fijivillage requests people to stay calm and follow the road rules to avoid any accidents.
