Being with 24 women at the Golden Age Home fills 32-year-old Orisi Gonewai’s life with joy.
Gonewai who is a Caregiver at the Golden Age Home in Lautoka is originally from Tailevu and says working on Mother’s day and being away from his mum is not easy but he is grateful that he is able to spend the day with 24 other loving mothers.
Gonewai believes Mother’s Day should not just be celebrated for a day but everyday.
He says his mother is miles away from him but the 24 mothers at the home have never made him miss his mum.
Gonewai says people should always look after their parents no matter what because they are the ones who have brought you into the world.
He says parents play a pivotal role in the upbringing of any child and this should never be forgotten.
Gonewai says people have been showing their generosity for the resident mothers at the home in the form of food and gifts.
