FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama said that this month’s general election is only a contest between the FijiFirst and the Social Democratic Liberal Party.
Bainimarama made this statement in front of more than 1000 people at the FijiFirst rally which was at held at Syria Park in Nausori.
He said that the elections will only be between SODELPA and FijiFirst because other parties are small in numbers.
He added that SODELPA is only popular because they are talking about issues relating to Itaukei Land and the Church.
Bainimarama stressed that people should not be worried about the other parties.
Meanwhile the leaders of the Fiji Labour Party and the People’s Democratic Party have responded to comments made by Bainimarama saying that he should not be so confident to jump to conclusions.
National Federation Party Leader Biman Prasad has also said that the FijiFirst Leader should not jump the gun as he may be very surprised with the outcome of the September 17th elections.
Fiji United Freedom Party and One Fiji Party Leaders have said that it is surprising to note that the FijiFirst Leader has no idea of the on-ground support that other parties are getting.
General Secretary of the Social Democratic Liberal Party, Pio Tabaiwalu has also responded by saying that SODELPA will let the people decide on which party they want as their next government.
