About 200 Year 9 students of Lelean Memorial School have been advised to stay home today after five classrooms were destroyed in a fire late yesterday afternoon.
The National Fire Authority received the call about the fire after 4pm yesterday.
Lelean Vice Principal Marika Sovaki says all Year 9 students have been advised to stay home today and prepare for their exams next week.
Sovaki says that they suspect the cause of the fire is an electrical fault.
He adds that this will not affect their exams.
The National Fire Authority is currently investigating the cause of fire.
The classroom building that was destroyed was the main entrance to the school which believed to be the Form 3 classrooms blocks.
