“This is not only a political party but it is also a movement.”
This statement was made by FijiFirst leader Voreqe Bainimarama at the FijiFirst Fun Fair earlier today.
Speaking to about 1,000 people at Ratu Sukuna Park, Bainimarama said that the FijiFirst Party is a movement for a better Fiji.
He said they have a vision for a new Fiji and the 2013 constitution is part of that vision.
Bainimarama stressed that people should protect the constitution because it will ensure a prosperous Fiji.
He added that a lot of political parties are talking about the 2013 constitution and are claiming that they were not included in it.
The FijiFirst leader said that everyone’s voices are heard in the constitution but that submissions made by certain individuals and parties were not included because they would not take Fiji forward.
Bainimarama added that people did not make submissions to the 1997 constitution although several political parties are supporting it.
The FijiFirst fun fair was also attended by newly announced proposed party candidates and their family members.
