The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has defeated USA 28‑7 to win the fifth place final of the Paris 7s but was not enough to win the World Sevens Series as South Africa outclassed England 24-14 in the final to retain the series title.
Fiji finished the series with 180 points in second place while South Africa finished on top with 182 points.
New Zealand finished third with 150 points while Australia settled at fourth place with 123 points.
Fiji had earlier lost to England 17-19 in the quarter finals.
The national side will now head back to Fiji to prepare for the Rugby World Cup 7s which will be held from the 21st to the 23rd of next month in San Francisco.
