The Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s team has topped pool A after they beat Australia 26-15 in an entertaining match in the Hamilton 7s.
Fiji will now face Samoa in the first cup quarterfinal at 11.36am today.
The half time score was Fiji leading 12-10.
Eroni Sau continues his impressive form as he scored the first try for Fiji in the first minute as he raced away from inside their own half as Fiji took an early 7-0 lead.
Australia scored back to back tries through Tim Anstee, as they took a 10-7 lead.
Fiji scored their second try through Josua Vakurunabili, on the stroke of half-time.
Australia scored the first try in the second half as they took a 15-12 lead.
Fiji replied straight after the kick-off after a great break by Amenoni Nasilasila and his off-load found a supporting Jasa Veremalua who scored Fiji’s third try as Fiji once again regained the lead by 19-15.

Sau secured Fiji’s victory with his second try on the stroke of full-time.
Captain Jerry Tuwai says they have learnt a lot from Sydney and they are trying to make up for last week.
He says only teamwork can win the game for them.
In other quarterfinals New Zealand will play England at 11.58am, Kenya will play Australia at 12.20pm and South Africa will play Scotland at 12.42pm.
The semifinals will begin at 3.49pm while the final will start at 7.03pm today.
