The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has thrashed Spain 45-5 in their first pool match of the Vancouver 7s this morning.
The national side scored a total of seven tries with Kalione Nasoko scoring twice while former national sprinter and debutant Batinisavu Uluiyata also scored his first try in the World Sevens Series.
The other tries were scored by captain Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou, Josua Vakurinabili and Eroni Sau.
Fiji was leading 19-5 in the first half.
In other matches this morning, New Zealand defeated Scotland 31-26, South Africa beat Russia 38-7, Kenya defeated France 14-7, England beat Wales 36-5, Argentina beat Samoa 22-7, Canada and Australia drew 19-all while USA thrashed Uruguay 45-0.
Fiji will now take on France at 10.08 this morning before taking on Kenya at 1.40pm today.
The quarterfinals will start at 7.08am tomorrow, semifinals at 11.08am while the final will be played at 2.19pm tomorrow.
