An International Monetary Fund team led by Pablo Lopez Murphy that visited Fiji has stressed that Fiji should continue with it’s planned civil service reforms.
The team says the stalling of structural reform momentum could discourage private sector development and investment.
Murphy says these reforms are very important for Fiji’s progress.
He says the Open Merit Recruitment System in the civil service should continue.
The IMF team has also said that the economy is recovering well after Tropical Cyclone Winston and is expected to grow at about 4 percent in 2017, its eighth consecutive year of expansion.
