Samoa have defeated the Vodafone Fiji 7's team in their first pool match 19-17 in the Paris 7's.
Fiji was leading 12-7 in the first half.
Fiji’s first try was scored by Kalione Nasoko and Sevuloni Mocenacagi scoring the 2nd try just before half time.
Samoa quickly answered with as try of their own to Tomasi Alosio.
Vatemo Ravouvou scored a minute into the 2nd half to extend Fiji’s lead 17-7.
Lafaele Vava scored from the kick off to help Samoa get back into the game with 17-12 in the 2nd half.
Mistackles costed Fiji the game as Samoa scored a last minute try to seal the win for them.
Fiji’s next pool game is against Russia at 11.26 tonight and our final pool match is against Australia at 3.14am tomorrow.
The medal quarter finals will start at 8.28pm tomorrow, the medal semifinals will be played at 12.18am Monday while the medal final will be played at 3.33am Monday.
Barring any upsets, Fiji is likely to meet South Africa, Canada or Scotland in the quarter finals, they are likely to face England or USA in the semifinal and can face New Zealand or Australia in the final.
