Viliame Mata is the only change in the Fiji team for Sydney 7s from the Wellington 7s

The Inaugural Sydney 7s is just 2 hours away and is expected to bring out a lot of excitement.

South Africa, Fiji and New Zealand are already keeping their eyes on the top prize and aim to lead the World Sevens Series standings before the Vegas and Vancouver 7s.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team have reset their focus to try and bounce back after their 31-0 loss to South Africa in the Wellington 7s semifinals.

Coach Ben Ryan believes the players are looking to turn things around this weekend.

Ryan has made one change to his side with Viliame Mata coming in for injured half back Emosi Mulevoro.

Meanwhile series leaders South Africa is still not satisfied with some calls made by referee Matt O’Brien during their final against New Zealand.

The Boks led 21‑7 before O'Brien made some questionable calls, which included awarding a 9‑1 penalty count in New Zealand's favour.

New Zealand on the other hand famously came back and scored three tries in the last three minutes of the match to win the game.

All Blacks 7s captain Tim Mikkleson says they are aiming to make it back to back this weekend.

The Sydney 7s kicks off at 12pm where Fiji will play Samoa in their first pool game.

Fiji takes on France at 3.18pm and their final pool game is against Argentina at 7.21pm today.

The Cup quarter‑finals start at 12.35pm tomorrow, the semis start at 4.57pm and the final kicks off at 8.04pm tomorrow.
