The Vodafone Fiji 7s team is focused on delivering their best performance in the 40th Hong Kong 7s tournament which kicks off this afternoon.

Fiji Captain, Osea Kolinisau is confident that the new players will prove themselves in this tournament.

However Kolinisau said that the team is fully aware that they should not get over-excited and over-confident.

Meanwhile coach Ben Ryan sayid he wants to build his team on explosive speed and playing the natural Fijian game of rugby.

Ryan added that the players are used to the pressure of international tournaments.

23‑year‑old Josaia Wini will make his debut while five other players will be playing in Hong Kong for the first time.

Fiji is a well balanced team with Eminoni Nasilasila, Apisai Domolailai, Isake Katonibau, Jasa Veremalua, Jerry Tuwai, Josaia Wini, Osea Kolinisau, Pio Tuwai, Samisoni Viriviri, Savenaca Rawaca and Semi Kunatani.

Meanwhile All Blacks Sevens captain DJ Forbes and Tim Mikkelson are making their return.

Forbes said they will treat this weekend as any other international tournament.

Lewis Ormond of Taranaki and Jordan Bunce of Manawatu are the only two players making their debut for New Zealand.

With three tournaments remaining, series leaders South Africa are keeping their changes to a minimum to protect their five‑point lead at the top of the standings.

Head coach Neil Powell has called in Justin Geduld and Stephan Dippenaar in their mission to win their first ever Hong Kong 7s title in 39 years.

40,000 spectators are expected to fill up the Hong Kong Stadium where the prize money for the Cup Final win is US$150,000.

The tournament kicks off at 5pm today.

Fiji is pooled with Samoa, Belgium and Canada.

They will face Samoa in their first game at 12.44am tomorrow.

Fiji will take on Belgium at 5.46pm tomorrow and then take on Canada at 9.48pm.

The HK 7s Cup quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, the semis will start at 7.46pm Sunday while the Cup final will kick off at 11pm Sunday.
