Fiji Rugby Union CEO, John O’Connor says a statement is expected from the FRU later this week on the plans to get the new Fiji 7s coach.
When questioned by Fijivillage, O’Connor said that he will meet with Ben Ryan this afternoon to get his thoughts on Fiji 7s future plans.
He says they will respect Ryan’s decision and will take it on from there.
The Dubai 7s will kick off on December 2nd.
Prime Minister and President of the Fiji Rugby Union, Voreqe Bainimarama is expected to receive a cheque from corporate bodies for the Fiji 7s team at 3pm today.
A meeting with Ben Ryan is expected after this event.

Meanwhile outgoing Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan who is expected to fly out to England later this week, says he wants to coach a team for the 15s World Cup or join a Super Rugby team.
These are some of the options he is looking at following confirmation that Ryan has received offers from Japanese rugby, and Super Rugby franchises in NZ, Australia and Japan.
Ryan says he will not rush into anything.
Ryan says there has been no talk between the Fiji Rugby Union and him as yet on the next 7s coach.
