The government has announced a drop in the price of motor spirit, premix and LPG gas in the latest review of fuel prices for the fourth quarter of this year.
Motor spirit prices will decrease to five cents a litre to $1.72 cents while there is also a five cents a litre fall in the price of Premix to $1.56.
There is also a fall in the price of LPG gas.
A 4.5 kg cylinder of LPG gas is down 84 cents to $10.77, a 12 kg cylinder is down $2.23 to $28.73, Bulk LPG gas per KG is down 16 cents to $2.03 and Auto Gas per unit is down 10 cents to $1.36.
However, the price of kerosene and diesel has gone up.
Kerosene is up by two cents a litre to $1.18 and diesel goes up by one cent to $1.40.
These changes in fuel and gas prices are now in effect.
The decrease in the price of motor spirit, premix and LPG has been welcomed by the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, the Faiyaz Koya.
He says the fall in these prices is good news and especially in the case of motor spirit and LPG gas as Fijians prepare to celebrate Diwali.
Koya says the fall in premix is also good news for maritime communities who are totally dependent on it for transport and their connection to the rest of Fiji.
