A psychiatric evaluation report has found that Fabiano Dakai who allegedly killed a security officer in Navua in February this year is not fit to participate in court proceedings.
The conclusion of the report which was read out in court today by High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar says Dakai is mentally unwell at the time the alleged offence was committed.
Defence lawyer, Namrata Mishra also told the court that Dakai is currently being kept at Saint Giles Hospital where he is undergoing therapy.
A hearing will be held on 10th June this year to decide whether the 21-year-old is fit to stand trial.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions will also confirm next month whether they will proceed with the charge or look at alternatives.
Dakai is charged with one count of murder.
