Car with 4 occupants currently submerged in river near Baulevu, Nausori

A vehicle with four occupants is currently submerged in the river in Naduruloulou near Baulevu, Nausori.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirms that the driver of the vehicle whilst proceeding towards Nausori tried to overtake another vehicle when he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road, and went into the river.

The driver and three passengers are believed to be still inside the submerged vehicle.

Police Traffic standby personnel are currently at the scene. Naisoro says the Police Special Response Team has also been called in with the divers. They will assess the situation and decide on their next move.
