Auditor General’s reports and all govt accounts should be published each year - Chaudhry

Mahendra Chaudhry

The General Secretary of the Fiji Labour Party said the Auditor General’s reports and all the accounts of government should have been published each year from 2006 to date to uphold accountability and transparency.

While speaking on our special general elections talkback, Straight Talk on our sister stations Viti FM and Radio Sargam last night, Mahendra Chaudhry raised the concern after he was told that the government has maintained that the Auditor General’s reports will be released after next month’s general elections.

Chaudhry believes the next parliament should make changes to the constitution and make decisions on the common name, the Great Council of Chiefs and other sensitive issues.

Chaudhry also said they will review all LTA legislations, including the provision on defect notices and speed limit laws.

Chaudhry added that if FLP forms government, frequent checks done by LTA officers on the road will be changed.

Join us on our special general elections talkback, Straight Talk on Monday from 7 on our sister stations, Viti FM and Radio Sargam.

Our guest on the show next Monday is National Federation Party Leader, Dr. Biman Prasad.

Join us on Monday and you can also call and ask the Political Party Leaders and their representatives’ questions on issues that matter to you as we approach the September 17th general elections.
