About 40 people were involved in a free for all brawl in the last hour along the Waimanu Road area.
Police officers at the scene had great difficulty in controlling the large number of people involved in the brawl.
The people involved had come out of a drinking spot located at Waimanu Road.
Several people who were on their way to work had to take alternative routes as they got worried that they may also be attacked by the drunkards.
Fijivillage has raised the issue relating to such incidents occurring outside this particular drinking spot on many occasions.
Police are expected to look into the issue later this morning.
