Fiji Development Bank CEO Deve Toganivalu and Attorney General and Public Enterprises Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Attorney General and Public Enterprises Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has refused to comment on the recent statements by the CEO of the Fiji Development Bank Deve Toganivalu to the Public Accounts Committee.

Toganivalu had said that they have not been paid for their costs incurred while facilitating the government's Micro and Small Business Grant Scheme.

Toganivalu made this comment in the committee meeting when Opposition member Sela Nanovo asked him to explain about the $1,000 grant which is being supervised by the FDB.

Toganivalu also said that if he may use the word, it's a pain at the moment.

When approached by Fijivillage, Sayed-Khaiyum said he will not comment on this.

Toganivalu had also said that this is one thing they did not approve from FDB's side, as they said that handout is not the way to go.

Toganivalu says the way it was said to them was that it is in their manifesto to hand out.
