The Coca-Cola Games girls division title is going to Sawani as Adi Cakobau School has clinched the title from defending champion, Jasper Williams High School.
According to the Legend FM and FM96 medal tally, ACS won 20 gold, 14 silver and 12 bronze while Jasper finished in second place with 11 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze while Saint Joseph’s Secondary School finished in third place with 4 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.
ACS Team Manager Lalinela Tawake says it is really special to comeback and win the girls division title after losing for four years.
The boys division title is going to Lautoka as Natabua High School won in style after beating RKS in the final race to win the crucial gold medal.
For the first time ever, there was a three way battle in the boys division until the last race between the defending champion, Marist Brothers High School, Natabua High School and Ratu Kadavulevu School.
It came down to the 4x400 metres Senior Boys Relay final to determine the winner of the boys division.
Natabua finished in first place with 12 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.
Marist came in second place with 10 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze while RKS finished in third place with 10 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze.
Shane Tuvusa was the man who made the difference in the last 150 metres to pip the RKS runner to win the 4x400metres race for Natabua.
Tuvusa says that his parents is where he draws his inspiration and he is happy to have won.
Natabua Team Manager Rusiate Wadali says it was not easy to try and win the title back from Marist.
The Best Male Athlete was Shane Tuvusa while the Best Female Athlete was Laisani Moceisawana.
One of the biggest upsets of the 2017 Coca-Cola Games was made by Malasebe Tuvusa of Suva Grammar School in the intermediate boys 200 metres.
Tuvusa beat top favourite Joseva Tabakaucoro to win gold.
