The 2017 Fiji Population and Housing Census count will begin from today and will continue till the 8th of October.
The Census field operation will start from this morning and enumerators will be visiting homes around the country.
The Census questions will range from population size, education, economic activity, fertility, communications, internet and agricultural activity.
The Fiji Bureau of Statistics is urging the public that people should only allow census officers into their homes when they have produced a valid ID card that shows their name, picture, the validity and position and the government statistician’s signature.
The last census count was in 2007.
People are advised to give correct information as the vital information that is gathered in the census helps the country to plan for the future.
