2 lose their lives in separate road accidents

Two people have lost their lives on our roads.

A 23-year-old driver died in a tragic road accident in Suva early this morning after his vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

The incident happened along Queen Elizabeth Drive when the 23-year-old overtook another vehicle.

According to Police, the driver died at the scene and there was only one passenger in the vehicle.

The passenger was rushed to the CWM Hospital where he is currently being treated.

Police are also investigating a road accident where a 25-year-old man lost his life.

The incident happened along Wainigadru highway in Savusavu at about 4pm yesterday.

According to Police, the vehicle was driven by a 26-year-old man who was on his way to Tabia village to drop off five passengers when he veered off the road.

The driver and a passenger were rushed to the Savusavu Hospital while three other passengers were treated and sent home.

One of the passengers is still admitted in hospital.

Investigations continue.
