13-year-old dies in Cunningham road accident

The 13-year-old girl involved in the road accident in Cunningham yesterday, passed away at the CWM hospital last night.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says another Year 11 student is under observation.

She says the driver who is in his 20s is still in police custody.

Naisoro says the two girls were walking along Cunningham Road when the vehicle swerved and hit the girls.

According to Naisoro, the driver said that he fell asleep.

He is a learner’s permit holder.
