A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain lies slow moving over Fiji.
The Nadi Weather Office says rain is expected to ease and clear from the west tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure system is expected to pass north of Fiji this weekend.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Occasional rain and heavy at times.
Occasional rain is expected for Navua, Suva, Nausori, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Labasa, Savusavu.
The low‑pressure system does not pose a direct threat to Fiji.
It is expected to deepen into a disturbance as it gradually moves eastward, passing between Rotuma and Vanua Levu this weekend and lying south of Samoa early next week.
The system has a potential to become a significant depression as it approaches Samoa early next week and changing direction.
The chance of developing into a tropical cyclone is moderate.
