15 LTA technical officers receive certification on Hybrid electric vehicle system safety

15 LTA technical officers have received their certification on Hybrid electric vehicle system safety.

The officers from the central and eastern divisions received their accreditation and certification from the Fiji National University following the completion of a 2 weeks training. 

The training is part of LTA’s ongoing upskilling and upgrading of knowledge on safety procedures for the purpose of ensuring safety on our roads.

The participants successfully completed the course which was geared towards demonstrating basic knowledge of hybrid electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicle safety, knowledge of an auxiliary 12 volts batteries, demonstrating knowledge of high voltage battery for hybrid electric vehicle as well as demonstrating knowledge of high voltage systems on hybrid electric vehicles.

The course also enabled the officers to upgrade their knowledge on the different makes and models of hybrid electric vehicle and upskill vehicle examiners and technical officers in the safe inspection procedures for hybrid electric vehicles.

It also increased their level of competency on inspection of hybrid vehicles involved in accidents or incidents.
