The increase in sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS has been linked to the failure of using protection.
This is according to the President and Fiji’s special representative on HIV/AIDS Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
He also highlighted that 30 new cases were recorded within the first 6 months of this year and one of the reasons is that people are not using contraceptives.
On the streets, there are mixed reactions on the usage of condoms.
The total reported cases of HIV/AIDS as at June this year stands at 449.
