It will be a different Christmas for a family of Tamavua village tomorrow as they will have enough food on their table compared to previous years.
This follows the generous donation of a New Zealand dentist Ravin formerly of Vanua Levu, who sent $1,000 to CFL the parent company of Fijivillage, to help the family with shopping and also household items.
15-year-old Selina Boila and her 51-year-old dad along with her 3 siblings received some groceries today.
Fijivillage earlier highlighted the story of Selina Boila and her struggles as she tries to make ends meet by selling flowers after school to support her bedridden dad and her family.
Today Fijivillage visited the family with groceries by the dentist who read her story on fijivillage last month was moved to help them.
Selina said this is quite a special Christmas for them.
Selina added she will continue to sell flowers after Christmas as she will return to school with her two brothers and a sister next year.
Meanwhile, her 51-year-old father said he is just thankful that he has four obedient children.
Selina’s dad has been unemployed due to a leg injury that occurred over 15 years ago.
Since then it has been difficult for him to find work.
The family is facing tough times but Selina Boila who is a Form Four student at LDS College did not lose hope and started to work after school to provide for her family.
