For the past two years the people of Beqa Island are reaping the benefits of developments on the island by the government.
District Representative Beqa, Orisi Cagilaba told Fijivillage that next month, the construction of a new Health Center is expected to start on the island as the site has been bulldozed.
This project will cost $400,000.
He said Seawall project is expected to be undertaken this year at Dakuni Village on the opposite side of the island.
Cagilaba added that the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama also donated eating utensils to the Women's Club.
The Women's Center has been completed which was opened by Women's Minister Dr. Jiko Luveni on Friday.
According to Cagilaba their lives have changed after the Prime Minister visited them few years ago.
