The Land Transport Authority is now analyzing all the traffic offenses which were recorded by the police during the Easter Operations.
LTA Spokesperson Iliesa Sokia said after analyzing the offences, they will deduct points under the Drivers Demerit Points system.
Sokia said some drivers may lose their driving license.
Meanwhile Director Traffic Mahesh Mishra said the Easter operation was conducted Nation Wide on Highways, Black Spots and Accident Prone Areas.
Mishra said a total of 1,440 drivers were booked during the five days operation.
He said among these were 967 cases of speeding, 33 driving without seatbelts and 44 for careless driving.
Other offenses include illegal operations, improper use of mobile phones, excess passengers, and improper use of lights.
Mishra said they had set out with a mission to have a fatal free Easter long weekend but due to ignorance and noncompliance by some of the drivers, some accidents were recorded.
