Residents of a settlement in Tuvu Lautoka managed to save their belongings and take them to higher grounds after flood waters reached their compounds this morning.

Flood waters are receding in the area as rain has eased in the Western Division.

The old Moto bridge is under 3 feet of water, Toge bridge and Balevuto bridge are also closed to all traffic. 

A resident Yaad Ram said occasional rain is continuing in Ba. 

Two bridges in Vitogo Paipai Lautoka are still closed however rain has stopped.

The Roads Department in Rakiraki has confirmed that Naqoro flats, Rakiraki bus stand and market area is still flooded.

However, flood waters on the Kings road near the Rakiraki village is receding slowly which is now accessible to vehicles.

Meanwhile, Tropical Disturbance remains slow moving just to the Southwest of Viti Levu. 

Associated active trough of low pressure with cloud and rain bands continue to affect the group.

Occasional rain and few thunderstorms is expected over most places and isolated heavy falls is likely.
