34 year old teacher drowns

In the last 24 hours another drowning case was recorded and the Fiji Police Force is pleading with the members of the public to take extra precautions.

The alleged incident occurred yesterday at around 6pm at the Devodara Picnic Spot in Savusavu whereby a 34 year old school teacher of Savusavu died while swimming with friends.

The victim was pulled out of the water by friends who attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.

Investigations continue while the post mortem will be conducted soon.

Police is requesting people to keep a close eye on their children, ensure a responsible adult is around at all times, and not to indulge in alcohol and water activities.

Police said they will continue to issue safety advisories for everyone’s safety and it is important for every individual to comply with it.
