More than 400 need food in Lekutu, Bua

More than 400 people including children in Lekutu, Bua, need food as their root crops have been badly damaged by Tropical Cyclone Evan.

Villager Suliasi Saragia said many fruit bearing trees have been destroyed along with a number of houses and the villagers are now waiting for the DISMAC team.

In Waibunabuna, people are relying on cassava and tea for food as many of their food items have been destroyed.

Meanwhile, a team has been deployed to the Northern Division to carry out initial damage assessments with 5,629 people still at evacuation centres across the North.
