Some good news this morning as destructive hurricane force winds will no longer be felt in any part of the country.
However the threat of flooding still exists.
A gale warning remains in force for the Coral coast, Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele and nearby smaller islands.
A strong wind warning remains in force for the rest of Fiji.
A damaging heavy swell warning also remains in force for Fiji.
Tropical Cyclone Evan which is maintaining its category 4 status was located near 19 decimal 0 south 177 decimal 2 east or about 140 km south of Nadi or about 105 km west of Kadavu or about 160 km southwest of Suva at 2:30am today.
The cyclone is moving south-southwest at about 17 Km/hr
On this track, the cyclone is expected to be located about 270 km South of Nadi or about 170 km southwest of Kadavu or about 265 km South-southwest of Suva at 2:30pm today.
The Nadi weather office said a flood warning remains in force for people living near the low lying areas near the Wainibuka and Rewa River.
A flood warning also remains in force for all low lying areas of Navua and the areas adjacent to the whole of Navua River.
The next high tide is at 10.30 this morning.
The Rewa River continues to rise.
DISMAC confirms the level was at 3.90 meters and the critical level is 4 meters.
Though rain has eased in Nausori, heavy rain is being experienced in the highlands of Naitasiri which is causing the river to rise.
People in the Rewa River delta area are being advised to take necessary precautions now.
Meanwhile Navua River level has receded this morning.
A few patients at the Navua Health Center had to be shifted to the top floor after flood waters entered the center late last night.
The Navua River near the health center broke its banks last night and about 2 feet of water was on the road.
Some patients have been transferred to the CWM hospital.
