People in Yasawa-I-Rara are now experiencing gale winds.
Village headman Siotame Virivirisuva said the village hall has been activated as their evacuation centre and villagers have been advised to store sufficient drinking water and food.

Also, many parts of Fiji are now starting to experience strong winds.
Pundit Ameerka Prasad of Vunivere, Seaqaqa, said they are experiencing very strong winds which are rattling many corrugated iron roofs in their community.
However, he said currently there are only light showers.
Seaqaqa family counts lucky stars
A family of six in Seaqaqa is counting their lucky stars after a pine tree fell on their house early this morning.
Mohammed Aruf Khan who is the family’s neighbor said no one was hurt and the family has been evacuated to the Seaqaqa Central College.
He said 15 other families have been evacuated to the centre since yesterday.
He added they are still experiencing strong winds and heavy rain.

He said there were strong winds and rain last night however there have been no damages.

One of the resident Anoj Prasad said there is no heavy rain but the winds are strong than ever before.
He said many people have been awake the whole night with the level of noise being made by the rattling of roofs.
In addition to this, Krishneel Goundar of Wairuku, Rakiraki, said they have been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds from 1 this morning.
He said the winds are so strong that they cannot step outside their homes and they are currently without power supply and no communication on the weather situation.
