River levels in Tavua start to rise

River levels in Tavua have started to rise and heavy rain continues.
Speaking from Tavua, Officer-in-Charge Joseph Low said they have never experienced anything like this before.
Power lines have fallen, many houses have been battered by destructive winds and people are still making their way to the evacuation centers.
In Ba, about two feet of flood waters has entered Ba town.
A few minutes ago John Nabiri who lives beside Ba town said with strong winds and heavy rain, the water level is rising.
He said with the amount of rain, the worst is yet to come.
