While many focus on the glamour events like the 100m, 200m and 400 metres at the Coca Cola Games, students, parents and old scholars of Niusawa High School of Taveuni are just hoping their long jump stars will defend their gold medals next weekend.

Last year Aralai Sigakobua won gold for Niusawa in the Intermediate girl’s long jump with a distance of 5.09 metres while her team mate Atunaisa Vakatale won gold in the sub junior boys division.

The two athletes will be in Suva next week hoping they can repeat last yea's golden jumps.

17-year-old Aralai said she has improved her distance and they were excited to be part of the national torch relay.

14-year-old Atunaisa said he is better prepared this year.

Meanwhile, the Games torch will be in Holy Family Secondary school in the next hour.

The Coca-Cola Games tickets are already on sale at the games office at McGregor Road in Suva.

Grandstand tickets are $30 for both days, concrete seating on the embankment is $12 a day while grass seating is $10 a day.

The Coca-Cola Games starts next Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
