Despite a bitter experience in Fiji 25 years ago, the former Indian Ambassador to Fiji Thettali Sreenivasan said Fiji has made good progress over the past years.
Sreenivasan was appointed as the Head of the Mission in 1986 and Fiji was his first posting as an ambassador.
He said the assignment became difficult a year later and then he was expelled from Fiji.
Sreenivasan met the 1987 coup leader and the man he used to play golf with at a Suva Club today.
Sreenivasan is the Vice Chairman and Executive Head of the Kerala State Higher Education Council with the rank of Vice Chancellor.
He is in the country for the 2014 Sangam Convention which starts tomorrow.
He said this was a good opportunity to come back to Fiji.
