23,000 passport books are now in stock to be used for applications received by the Department of Immigration.
Fiji Director of Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa said this supply is enough to take the Country till the 3rd quarter of this year.
He said currently another 35,000 books are inbound from the suppliers and this will take the Country till the end of the year.
Vuniwaqa said another reason there is an adequate supply is because the current suppliers are producing books within a 3 month time-frame instead of 6 as was in the past.
He added though these books are made in a short amount of time the quality however of the passport books are not compromised.
A total of 35,000 passport books were issued last year.
