40 Evacuation Centers in the West are now on standby and ready for activation as Tropical Cyclone Evan is expected to make landfall today.
According to the National Disaster Management office the evacuation centers consists of 7 schools in Lautoka, 6 schools in Nadi, 5 schools each in Ra, Ba and Tavua, 7 schools in Nadroga and 5 in Navosa.
Meanwhile, in the North according to Divisional Planning Officer Alipate Bola 200 evacuation centers across the provinces of Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata are also on standby.
