Bus checker awaits fate

A 24-year-old checker who allegedly abducted a school student last year will know his fate at the end of this month.

Ratu Umu Lovo appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili charged with abduction and defilement.

It is alleged that Lovo who is a bus checker had an affair with a 16-year-old student in August last year.

The student went to Lovo’s house and did not return home for two days after which the mother raised the alarm with police and later found out about the affair.

The student returned home but after another alleged phone call from Lovo in September she went back to him.

A complaint was lodged with the police following which Lovo was arrested.
 
Lovo asked for forgiveness in court today and he will be sentenced on 28th November.
