Prosecution today closed its case in relation to the trial of a teacher in Kadavu who is charged with one count of rape.
State Counsel, Shivendra Nath said there is a case to answer.
The accused who had earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault but pleaded not guilty to rape, took the stand today said he only touched the girl.
The Court heard that on the 26th of May 2012, the teacher allegedly called the 13-year-old girl and her sister to his house to do some cleaning.
He then told the 13-year-old girl to massage his back while the other sister was cleaning the house.
Meanwhile the mother of the girl later told her husband of the incident and they informed the vice principal about the matter before it was reported to police and the Ministry of Education.
